April 15, 2008:  The Hoopeston Police Department received a complaint on 4/14/08 that a person called a local resident and claimed to be calling from the Hoopeston Police Department and was soliciting donations for a Policeman's Ball.

The Hoopeston Police Department does not seek donations, solicit funds or host a Policeman's Ball.

The Hoopeston Police Department is asking that anyone receiving a call of this nature contact the police department with any additional information.
